I'm a cosplayer who recreates costumes from Doctor Who, Star Wars, Lord of the Rings, and pretty much anything that catches my eye. I try to provide as much information as possible so that you can adapt the techniques and resources that I use in your own costuming.

Versatile Patterns
I just want to mention really quickly that if you make dresses at all, the two most versatile patterns that I use are Simplicity 9891 and Simplicity 4940. I have dissected these dresses multiple times to make my own patterns using the tops, sleeves, skirts, etc. I highly recommend purchasing them both and making copies of each piece on pattern paper.

Shadow Weaver for C2E2
Well, I decided to go to C2E2 at the last minute (last-minute in con time = a few weeks out). There was no costume that I'd already done that I wanted to wear, so I decided to finally make Shadow Weaver. I've lost about 18 pounds in the last few months, so I finally have the confidence to wear something a bit more slinky than I normally would.
I'm starting today.
That gives me 14 days to design and build it.
Wish me luck.
